 Course Description: Participants will learn the importance of evidence-based practice as it relates to occupational therapy practice regarding reimbursement and ethics. Practitioners will be provided with strategies and methods for applying evidence-based thinking within their practice, including methods for searching for journal articles efficiently, approaches for encouraging evidence-based practice on a systems-level, and more.

Objectives:

  1. Define evidence-based practice and describe the relationship between evidence-based practice, reimbursement by third party payers, and providing quality treatment.

  2. Articulate methods for finding and utilizing evidence-based information concerning pediatric occupational therapy practice. 
  1. Discuss approaches for incorporating evidence-based information into practice setting.
