Event Description: This session will review the evidence-based occupational therapy and interprofessional literature on trauma and trauma informed care approaches. Presenters will provide recommendations for practice based on their review of the evidence and literature related to risk and predictive factors, perspectives and experiences, screening and assessments, and interventions for individuals who have experienced trauma and professional training.

 Learning Objectives:

  1. Describe the Evidence-Based Practice process
  2. Summarize current research and levels of evidence for trauma and trauma informed care related to risk and predictive factors, perspectives and experiences, assessments and interventions.
  3. Identify evidence-based recommendations to guide practice related to trauma and trauma informed care.
  4. Discuss professional and governmental resources related to trauma and trauma informed care

Speaker Bios: Presenters are current students in the first year of the graduate occupational therapy curriculum at St. Catherine University. Their EBP course has been guided by Dr. Julie Bass this semester.  

*This event will allow participants to receive 3 CEU's. 

The cost for this event will be free for MOTA members and $30 for non-MOTA members.

The room we have scheduled is Whitby Hall, Jeanne D'Arc (Building # 5 on the campus map).  
Whitby is the academic building on the northwest side of the campus, Building #14
Enter the building near Gate#2.   Watch for signs.
