Advocacy

The advocacy division of MOTA is your voice in the promotion, protection, and advancement of occupational therapy practice in the state of Minnesota. This division is made up of volunteer OT practitioners and is composed of the Government Affairs Committee, an Ethics chair, a Quality Management chair, and a Reimbursement chair. 

What does advocacy through MOTA do for you?

  • Provide a dedicated lobbyist who monitors committee hearings and bill introductions

Annual Occupational Therapy Day at the Capitol is back! 

Wednesday, February 22, 2023, from 9 AM-1 PM. We are looking for as many volunteers as possible to educate legislators on the role of occupational therapy. This year our goal is to build support for the OT licensure compact. Come and bring your energy and passion to the capitol!

Occupational Therapy Licensure Compact 

The government affairs committee in partnership with our lobbyist is bringing forward a legislative proposal for Minnesota to join the occupational therapy licensure compact in this 2023 session.
