Event Description This course will include information on the Tech for Healthy Aging program. This program helps older Minnesotans, age 65+, utilize technology and other resources to maximize their safety, independence, and quality of life. Services are person-centered - guided by each person’s own needs and goals. They are built on a team approach - involving family members, caregivers, and professionals from multiple areas of expertise.
Speaker Biography Sue Redepenning, OTR/L, ATP, MN-AS is the owner of LiveLife Therapy Solutions and the Program Director for Technology for HOME, a state-funded program which provides assistive technology (AT) for people with disabilities throughout Minnesota and partner in Tech for Healthy Aging. Sue leads a team of twelve AT consultants (Occupational Therapy, Speech-Language Pathology, Physical Therapy, Nursing and Engineering). Sue is an Occupational Therapist and has worked in the field of AT for over 20 years. She has presented at AT-related conferences locally and nationally.
Learning Objectives
Participants will: • Know what the Tech for Healthy Aging Project is and how to make a referral • Learn how assistive technology can help someone 65 plus live at home with increased independence, safety, and connection • Learn how AT fits into the practice of Occupational Therapy in life skills
