Speaker Biography Shannon Pfau MAOT, OTR/L, CTP: I am an OT that currently works in a Psychosocial Outpatient Private Practice in Fargo, ND. I became the NDOTA Fargo District Chair this year as well as obtained my Certified Trauma Professional Certification in 2021. I currently see individuals ages 14+ with a variety of Mental Health or Complex Chronic/Autoimmune Conditions. I graduated from Saint Catherine University with my Masters in Occupational Therapy in 2016. Since, I have worked in both Inpatient and Outpatient Mental Health settings along with PRN work in Inpatient Rehabilitation. Through the beginning of the COVID pandemic I was Clinical Director at Professional Rehabilitation Consultants. I have been a Fieldwork Educator for many students throughout the years along with developing programs and writing proposals for Sensory Modulation Rooms. I am a wife and mother of two toddler boys and when I have free time I spend it cuddling my dog, writing, reading, or doing arts/crafts. Prior to becoming an OT, I worked as a direct support specialist to adults with developmental disabilities, care coordinator at a home health agency, and coached competitive cheerleading. My special areas of interest within Psychosocial OT include Sensory Modulation, CBT, Chronic Pain, Polyvagal Theory/Application, and Trauma. I particularly enjoy helping young adults/adults regain independence and participate in meaningful activities.
