Event Description: 

The purpose of this meeting is to gauge interest in a Pelvic Health SIG within MOTA and the larger OT community.  The goal of establishing this SIG is to promote pelvic health as an area of practice in OT and to provide a space for OTs practicing in Minnesota to collaborate.  

Speaker Credentials and Biographies: 

Tamara Nascene, MA, OTR/L is currently working in the private practice sector where she specializes in both mental health and pelvic health and has a specific interest in the intersection of those two practice areas.  She initially became interested in pelvic health while working in an outpatient clinic with a complex neurological population.  Her pelvic health education has included multidisciplinary continuing education as well as OT-specific pelvic health training. 

Learning Objectives:

Participants will:

• Understand occupational therapy’s role in pelvic health
• Distinguish OT’s unique approach to pelvic health from the approach of other pelvic health practitioners 
• Collaborate to organize a space for pelvic health practitioners within our state organization (MOTA)
