Target Audience: OTRs and OTAs Educational level: beginner/intermediate Course Description: Within all occupational settings, pain presents as a barrier for clients to participate in everyday occupations. Attendees will be able to identify the role of occupational therapy within pain management in a variety of settings. Different assessments will be addressed and discussed. Attendees will be able to identify interventions and vocabulary that can support clients to allow for increased participation in everyday occupations. Learning Objectives:
Speaker Bio: Karen Carr, OTR/L graduated with a degree in Occupational Therapy from College of St. Scholastica. Karen has been working within pain programs for five years and currently works at Essentia Health. She is one of the leaders of the MOTA chronic pain SIG. She also works within hand therapy, lymphedema and breast rehab.
