Course Description: 

This presentation will focus on how the many professions serving individuals living with mental illness can collaborate to have greater impact on client wellness. 

 

Speaker Bio:

Michelle Wincell O'Leary, LICSW, CSA is Vice President of Housing, Clinic & Fitness at Touchstone Mental Health where she leads Assisted Living and Housing Innovation Programs in providing holistic, person centered services for adults who live with mental illness, chronic health conditions, substance use problems and homelessness. As a leader at Touchstone for ten years, Michelle has impacted the organizational culture and services for consumers through consistent high-quality consumer care, inspirational leadership and use of collaborative interprofessional relationships in program development and innovation.  Ms. Wincell O’Leary is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker and approved Clinical Supervisor in the State of Minnesota and holds a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Denver. She is also a Certified Senior Advisor through the Society of Certified Senior Advisors where the focus is to better serve the aging population.

Learning Objectives:

  • Attendees will be able to identify three basic tenets of Interprofessional Collaborative Practice.
  • Attendees will be able to identify how whole person philosophy and the healing environment relate to Occupational Therapy.
  • Attendees will be able to verbalize how they can participate in IPCP for their clients.

 

Target Audience: OTR, OTA, OTS with interest in mental health OT.
